DEMON ISLAND MASSACRE (鬼ヶ島虐殺) is a hyper-8-bit-action platformer in a similar vein to arcade and 8-bit classics such as Ghosts n Goblins and Castlevania. Josh Baron and the crew at Polyanna Video invite you down a rabbit hole of sprawling colorful landscapes and twisted nightmare realms that bend the boundaries between 8-bit and 64-bit sensibilities. The priestess Flower Momogami must run, jump, and utilize an array of holy weaponry to overcome the demons that lurk every corner during the  invasion of Tenryu, in the first chapter of this tale of Japanese-style horror.

Only challenge the road ahead if you dare!

This seems like It could be a very entertaining game, well made! But, their are two problematic areas to me that did cause me to have to exist out early.

1- The walking speed is fine compared to the enemies, but durning any point of just walking you notice its actually very annoyingly slow. Which isn't a TOTAL game changer, but certainly would be nicer.

2 - The BIG issue, is your working with a SINGLE run, instead of a few lifes and automatic "start here" checkpoints. This means if you die at one cliff  and it takes you 3 tries to learn how to do, but its 5 minutes in, your having to fight EVEEEEERYYYY part you already did just to try that one more time, effectly ruining the rest of the previous parts and any desire to go forward- Because what if you do? You get a LONGER time redoing the SAME thing until you figure out how. It could be absolutely cute and fun, looks like some very entertaining graphics and good game play, but that die with no retry is destroying it.

IMPORTANT

there were a few major late game glitches that rendered a full run impossible without the stage select, so hopefully version 1.3 should be the last emergency hotfix for now

Ohhhh can't wait to try out the demo! :D
